We are always looking for people who would like to help NEBTR with their Mission of helping Boston Terriers in need.

Note:  the photo above is a NEBTR named Winston.  His Mom was Ana Cecere, who found this picture as she was looking at pur updated web site after Winston’s death.  Ana writes, “When my beloved boston of 15 1/2 years passed away I saw a picture of him in our website under fundraising with his little paw up asking for help! That is when I decided it was time to start looking for another boston in need through NEBTR. And then came Brady, he was meant to be with us, he is our world! Dogs teach us amazing and profound life lessons. As much of a challenge as it was in the beginning my husband and I keep falling in love deeper with him and I thank all the Foster moms in the group for being so dedicated to their fosters, for knowing their foster babies so well and for asking all the right questions to find the right home! There is always the right dog for the right family.”

Perhaps you would like to join NEBTR too?

Volunteers are needed for:

Transport –

Transporting pups to their foster or forever homes.  You must have a valid license and valid insurance.

Foster Care –

For evaluating a newly rescued or surrendered Boston and determining temperament and what kind of home is best for the dog. This is also a commitment from your family.  If you are primarily interested in fostering, please fill out the special foster application located here.

Home checks-

We do not release any dog for adoption until one of our members has met with the possible adoptive family and reviewed the home environment

Many things come up that volunteers are needed for – if you have a dedication to this Breed – please volunteer !

Northeast Boston Terrier Rescue (NEBTR) is comprised of volunteers based in NY, NJ, PA, CT and DE and serves Boston Terriers in need within reach of our helping hands. Most dogs in foster care for placement are adolescent to adult dogs in need of re-homing in life for a multitude of reasons and will need caring hands to guide them as they transition into new homes. All of our rescue dogs are fostered and evaluated for a 2 week minimum to allow us to assess their personality and provide them with basic foundation skills - House/Crate training, basic manners - to ease their transition into new homes. It is our belief such work in foster care better prepares dogs for success and helps forms lasting bonds.
