Please Help Waffles

Click on this link to donate for Waffles.

Waffles was never taken to a vet before coming to NEBTR.  She is only 3 years old, has 2 big lumps on her behind, and 4 others on her body, of differing sizes.  NEBTR had a cytology report from the aspirations done, and the lumps are mast cell tumors (cancer).
Due to the delicate locations of the tumors on her anus and vulva, she will require surgery to have them removed by a specialist.  She has fleas, whipworms, a UTI and Lyme disease.  Then on top of it all, the poor thing split her nail in half on her left front paw.  She just can’t catch a break.
Through it all, Waffles has been a very sweet dog.
Please help NEBTR with her mounting vet bills.  NEBTR and you can see Waffles through to a happy and healthy life.

We will be having a fundraiser at the Concord Pet Store in the East Gate Square shopping center in Mount  Laurel, NJ on Sunday, February 22 from 11-4. Free baths will be offered to fosters of rescue organizations prior to starting the fundraiser. So if you are planning on coming and bringing your foster, come earlier than that and go to the back of the store – the bath area is amazing!

A Paws to You Award

This is our new award for recognition of those donors who have gone above and beyond in supplying gifts for our fosters. Many of them have come with nothing, and need every essential – plus a few toys and treats to make them happy! We recognize these special people with our A Paws to You Award, and know that we are proud that you have chosen us and our dogs for your wonderful gifts. We are truly blessed to have you support NEBTR.

Both Eileen Giltz and Ryan Csolak have also been added to our Gold Bone Society, which recognizes donors who have contributed $1000 or more.  They join an incredible roster of supporters, without whom we could not do the work that we do.

Save the date, 20 June, for the largest one day adoption event in New York and Vermont, the link is below.  I have signed up NEBTR for the event, which I shall coordinate.  This is an ideal opportunity for outreach, spreading the word about NEBTR and what we do, fundraising, and adoptions.  The main event will be held in Ballston Spa, NY, right near Saratoga if you have a yen to make it a long weekend by visiting the Spa city.  And Saratoga is dog friendly, water bowls on the street, dogs welcomed into most stores, they might even get treats!

A Plea for Foster Homes

Please consider fostering!  We have a line of Bostons waiting to get in our group, but we need foster homes to be able to help them!

Northeast Boston Rescue (NEBTR) is comprised of volunteers based in NY/NJ and PA and serves Boston Terriers in need within reach of our helping hands. Most dogs in foster care for placement are adolescent to adult dogs in need of re-homing in life for a multitude of reasons and will need caring hands to guide them as they transition into new homes. All of our rescue dogs are fostered and evaluated for a 2 week minimum to allow us to assess their personality and provide them with basic foundation skills - House/Crate training, basic manners - to ease their transition into new homes. It is our belief such work in foster care better prepares dogs for success and helps forms lasting bonds.
