Upcoming Senior Trust Auction Nov. 1, 2014

In early November, we will have an online auction via Facebook to raise funds to pay for the high medical expenses of our pups, particularly our seniors.

1.We start collecting items now (or since last year!!!)
2.  We start promoting the auction and create the auction page in late September/October.
3.  Donors send us (to individual admins or to the NEBTR Facebook page) photos and descriptions of their items.
4.  Admins (myself and a few others) post them to the auction page.
5.  When the auction begins, bidders enter their bids in the “comments” boxes.

NEBTR Wins 2014 Manhattan Award

Northeast Boston Terrier Rescue has been selected for the 2014 Best of Manhattan Award in the Animal Rescue Service category by the Manhattan Award Program. This is due in no small part to the efforts and talents of
Ellen Thelin, Stacie Kyle, Melissa McGinn, and Katherine DeCotiis. These four women have worked hard at NEBTR public relations, and are deserving of our recognition in receiving this award. This is the second year in a row that we have won this award.

Each year, the Manhattan Award Program identifies entities and businesses that they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that
enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community. These exceptional companies help make the Manhattan area a great place to live, work, and play.

Virtual Fosters

We now have a virtual foster program! The program is for people that cannot fit another furry friend into their home or for one reason or another cannot physically foster but want to help and support our rescues.  It gives our many supporters the opportunity to virtually foster a dog of their choice. There are two ways to sponsor virtually, a one-time donation (Guardian) or a monthly on-going donation (Angel).

These dogs are all forever fosters or have terminal medical conditions.

Each dog has a Facebook page and the sponsors will have access to the page for updates as a way to communicate with the sponsor family.

Canine Carnival Oct. 4

canine carnival(2)

Canine Carnival 2014 is on the way Saturday October 4, 10:00am – 3:00pm at its>new location, Jamesville Beach Park in Jamesville, NY, just minutes from downtown Syracuse. Last year’s Canine Carnival event was an incredible success with hundreds of animals adopted, 15,000 people attending and more than 100 vendors and rescues represented from as far away as Philadelphia.

This year will again feature hundreds of animals for adoption from dogs and cats to horses, animal demonstrations, horse carriage rides, a Red Cross Blood Drive, food, music, live radio broadcasting and, back by popular demand, our Sports and Kids Zone with Central NY sports teams.  Admission is FREE. It will be held rain or shine. We encourage everyone to bring your pets, but all dogs must be on a short leash at all times within the Canine Carnival area.

Thanks to Nylabone

Special thanks to Nylabone for the FANTASTIC donation to NEBTR of their products.

We are blessed that Nylabone donates to rescues and shelters, and
since their plant is getting ready for some work, my friend was able to
provide these amazing donations to our rescue organization!!!!!  This
picture shows only 1-1/2 of the 6 cases I was able to pick up!!!

Northeast Boston Rescue (NEBTR) is comprised of volunteers based in NY/NJ and PA and serves Boston Terriers in need within reach of our helping hands. Most dogs in foster care for placement are adolescent to adult dogs in need of re-homing in life for a multitude of reasons and will need caring hands to guide them as they transition into new homes. All of our rescue dogs are fostered and evaluated for a 2 week minimum to allow us to assess their personality and provide them with basic foundation skills - House/Crate training, basic manners - to ease their transition into new homes. It is our belief such work in foster care better prepares dogs for success and helps forms lasting bonds.
