Out and About With NEBTR

Pawz Packz

Pam Witt created Pawz Packz to help rescues by donating a portion of her sales to rescue groups.  NEBTR is one of the organizations that she has chosen for her donation.

Each pack consists of four magnets and a “paw” in a metal tin.  You can select the four magnets you choose for your Paw Pack, which are housed in a round metal tin with a clear window on the front.  Then Pick one paw for each Paw Pack you order.

There are ordering directions on the Pawz Packz site, which you can visit by clicking on this link.

In Memory of Mary Beth Rapp

Mary Beth Rapp was a willing and active volunteer with NEBTR and wanting to help Bostons wherever and whenever she could.  She fostered them for us, and regularly helped with transporting them.

Mary Beth was beautiful soul who will be so sorely missed by all of us.  Her family has our deepest sympathies and we share you loss. She was a true friend to our Boston Terriers.

Mary Beth Rapp, 54, a lifelong Pawling resident, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at her home.

Kim Barnett

Kim Barnett stresses promoting good human – canine relationships based on respect, trust and kindness.

She writes, “My philosophy is a simple one: to help humans communicate better with their dogs and have more fulfilling relationships. A soon as we begin to communicate clearly, our dogs respond accordingly. Most of us already have the skills, we just don’t know it. In considering this, I look for the similarities more than the differences in our two species and use them to mutual advantage. It’s no coincidence that the dog has been our closest companion for thousands of years; on an instinctual level we have many parallels, both being a social species.”

Thanks to Walter Williams

NEBTR sends a special “thank you” to Walter Williams.  Walter is the NEBTR digital portrait painter who paints loved Bostons for FREE (with the hope that the recipient might give a small donation to the Senior Trust Fund.)

Last summer Walter was instrumental in setting up the Senior Trust Fund, and this fund helped numerous Senior Bostons who found themselves looking for a new home in their Senior years.  Some of these poor souls had expensive medical issues, and this Senior Trust Fund insures that they will get the care they deserve and, hopefully, find forever homes.

NEBTR thanks Walter profusely for the extraordinary efforts he continually makes to raise funds for our rescued Bostons, in particular the Senior Trust Fund that was created due to his relentless energy on their behalf.  The paintings you donate and the donations we receive for them are just another example of your generosity.

We are grateful for your support, your time, your imagination and talent, but mostly for your shared love of this beautiful breed.

Thank you for all your do on their behalf.

Her confidence is way up and it shows in her speedy moves!

Northeast Boston Terrier Rescue (NEBTR) is comprised of volunteers based in NY, NJ, PA, CT and DE and serves Boston Terriers in need within reach of our helping hands. Most dogs in foster care for placement are adolescent to adult dogs in need of re-homing in life for a multitude of reasons and will need caring hands to guide them as they transition into new homes. All of our rescue dogs are fostered and evaluated for a 2 week minimum to allow us to assess their personality and provide them with basic foundation skills - House/Crate training, basic manners - to ease their transition into new homes. It is our belief such work in foster care better prepares dogs for success and helps forms lasting bonds.
